The Arkansas Lottery has decided to do something very worthwhile with the lottery proceeds. All net proceeds from lottery sales in the state of Arkansas goes to education scholarships for college students. These scholarships can be used at all public and non-profit colleges in the state. They can be 2 or 4 year institutions of higher learning.
$272 million dollars has been given out to college students so far with the scholarships and much more is to come in the future. This year the scholarships are $4,500 for a four year college and $2,550 for a two year school. You can renew this scholarship as well as long as you are enrolled 12 hours the first semester and 15 hours each semester after that. Arkansas really does care about its college students to be just giving away this money to college student.
