What schools offer the FSEOG?

If you’re seeking money for college, the FSEOG can be an extremely valuable tool for many students with financial need. The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant offers a substantial amount of money for school that never has to be paid back. There are certain restrictions to the FSEOG, but all students can find out if they are eligible for this federal source of educational funding simply by filling out a FAFSA, or Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Where is the FSEOG and the FAFSA available? At more than 4,000 schools nationwide.
Before you start thinking that you’ll get the up to $4,000 provided by the FSEOG, you should consider your financial situation. This grant is only available to students with exceptional financial need. In fact, the grant is usually not awarded to students unless they first qualify for the Federal Pell grant. Whatever your case may be, you should know that if you do qualify for this grant, you can use the money to attend any of the following schools:
Universities and state colleges
Technical schools
Vocational Schools
Nursing programs
Community colleges
Automotive schools
Engineering programs
Massage therapy schools
Private colleges
Religious colleges
In fact, the FSEOG can be used anywhere that a FAFSA is used, which includes most schools in the country. This means that you only need to fill out one FAFSA to determine your eligibility, and that information can then be used at any number of schools around the country. This can be exceptionally useful if you intend to apply at numerous colleges to see who can provide the best “deal.” While federal funding will not differ from school to school, internal programs are often available that are similar to the FSEOG. If you’re uncertain of where to begin, consider calling a school financial aid official for guidance.
